
Only a year after taking control of the robotics business of Sony, Toyota announced a scooter vertical machining. This personnel carrier is intended to help people move around in public areas.
It was called the Winglet due to the nature of its fleet. It is the first gadget to duplicate the famous navigation system of Dean Kamen's Segway transporter.
However, this scooter is not on a par with the Segway in speed or resistance. The new model of the Segway can go up to 12.5 kilometers per hour, and the slightness of Winglet probably would not survive context of a police pursuit.
According to Toyota, which will test three different models in Japanese airports by the end of this year. Customer Feedback will help determine if Toyota is going mass market for the gadget sales.
